Pickin’ Central at the Sisters Folk Festival
We’ve had a Banjo “Contest” in years past, but that competitive thing just didn’t appeal to some folks. The crowd loved it, but there were still some banjo players among them lurking, not picking.
We like to have as many pickers picking as possible, so come on over to Pickin’ Central Friday and Saturday nights from 9:30 pm – 12:30 am (or whenever) at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, 291 E. Main Ave. This is a moderated picking and song session for all of you Festivalgoing pickers.
The festival is proud to welcome back, for his sixth year, jam moderator Rich Powell. He hails from Portland, where he’s lead the Oregon Bluegrass Association monthly jam for more years than he’s willing to admit. “They can’t get rid of him!”
So grab your favorite stringed instrument (harmonicas included) and get ready for a very casual, friendly music experience. Songs range from bluegrass to folk to gospel and back again.
Singers are also very welcome!
Come on over to Pickin’ Central & have a blast playing with other enthusiasts!
