The Weather Machine, fronted by Slater Smith, was founded in 2013. In a short few years, the independent project has toured Europe and the US, and has opened for the Alabama Shakes and Cold War Kids in their home region. Since starting the band, Slater has been commissioned to write songs for educational programs, has taught songwriting to high schoolers, and has worked closely with music licensing and composition companies in Portland, OR.
