Original Watercolor - 22" x 30"
This piece was donated by Bob & Jennifer Lawton. Kathy Deggendorfer lives on a cattle and hay ranch just outside of Sisters, Oregon on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains. Her studio is in Sisters. Inspired by the color and texture of her surroundings her vibrant and colorful watercolor paintings are whimsical representations of ranch life. Magpies snacking on the cat food and mule deer grazing on the petunias - all end up as models in her paintings. Kathy’s paintings are often referred to as “Painter’s Quilts.” Kathy is a fabric designer for Maywood Studios and produces a line of hand painted tiles for public and private art installations in collaboration with Kibak Tile of Sisters, OR.
I'm self taught. I am inspired by my surrounding landscapes. I think it is our duty as citizens to support great organizations like SFF and My Own Two Hands as our part in making this a great place to live and raise our kids.
