Wooden Rocking Chair - 28" x 42" x 35"

Rocking chair made from an old wine barrel. Fashioning a retired wine barrel into a functional, rustic looking rocking chair demonstrates how one can "move beyond" and repurpose an object and give it an entirely new function.

 

Artist Statement:

As a woodworker, I like to try new things and take on new challenges. The wine barrel used for the chair comes from a retired wine barrel from Winter's Hill, a small family owned winery near Dundee, that we've been members of for years.
